to put something other than excuses and complaints here soon. All I have left to do is 2 finals next week and a presentation. Then I’m going home and will be able to knit, until I have to go to work. But knitting and work is much easier to balance than school and knitting. 2 MORE WEEKS! I’m so excited I can hardly stand it. Goddess bless the CSU system for using semesters….
My life is crazy hectic right now. Still. I really wish that they didn’t have to do construction right outside my window. It’s hard to focus. And I really need to focus. Since my last post, this is what I have gotten done:
- Turned in the 1st draft of my Senior Autobiography
- Finished a second draft of my Corneille paper
- Finished one of the 2 french novels, all that remains is Diderot’s La Religieuse
I can’t focus on my presentation. I need to go do something. But I have no time to do that, because I have NO free time. I PROMISE there will be knitting here by June. That’s the best I can do anywhoo!

In the last week-ish I have managed to get my life back into a somewhat sort of order. I have since finished:
- A research paper on Corneille’s Le Cid
- 1 of the 2 (the prof. got rid of 2) french novels
- Given 1 presentation of the 2 about the 2 french novels
- Presented a poem and author at the language festival
- Written a critique paper for Art History
- Written 15 pages (total) of my autobiography (in french)
- Found a place to live next year
And that’s really all. The last few are put on the back burner. I have been knitting, the afghan is about 2 feet long now, almost 1/3 of its intended length. I just have no time to take pictures. boo, i know. Sadly, I had to rip out the blue scarf, because I messed up on one of the lace rows and it was way too confusing to just un-knit it, so its gone, but I will restart it. Eventually.
This is what remains on my school-term to-do list:
- Register for Fall classes
- Finish my french autobiography
- Give my senior presentation
- Art History final
- Geology Final
- Present a Dominican author in French Caribbean Lit
I’m SO ready to go home.

Is really the only way to describe my life lately. Knitting has been indefinitely put on the back burner. Well, not completely the back burner, as my senior paper has something to do with it, but that therein is the problem. By the first of May, I have to:
- read 4 more french novels
- Finish a research paper on Corneille’s Le Cid
- Give 2 presentations on 2 french novels
- Present a poem and author at the language festival
- write a critique paper for art history
- write 15 more pages of my autobiography (in french)
- find a place to live next year
- find a job
- buy a car (which will be difficult as I don’t have a job)
- figure out how Im moving back home for the summer
That’s why there are no pictures of the afghan… It’s coming along quite nicely though.

is coming along very nicely. I’m down here at Chris’ place for the end of spring break, and have been sitting around, catching up on movies and knitting while he is at work. I unfortunately don’t have my camera so I can’t take pictures to post. blah. well just wanted to leave a little update.

It came, it came. Yesterday the nice lady in the mail room gave me a big package from KnitPicks and inside was…..
YARN!

The color looks more tomato here, but its really a pink-winey color. Hence the name Mulled Wine. This is to be the afghan.
I’ve already started Branching Out and am loving the lace. I like that the pattern is repeated over only 10 rows, 5 of lace and 5 purl. Having fun.

Going to Gramma’s tomorrow to begin the Spring Break 11 day extravaganza. It’s going to be splendid……

I’ve already begun to plan my next 18 million projects, and they are as follows:
I still want to knit Monkey Socks but not until I’m more comfortable with lace knitting
As soon as my KnitPicks yarn comes, I’m going to start on Branching Out, and Grandma’s Lots of Love Afghan. Those are the new projects for spring break. Woo Hoo for spring break, I can’t even tell you how excited I am to get away, not only school, responsibility and DRAMA. Can’t stand drama.
While perusing the new Knitty I stumbled upon access to SweaterBabe, where I found this:

How freaking adorable. I know. I’m thinking I’ll download the pattern, but make a few modifications, so that I can knit with a worsted cotton blend instead of a Bulky wool blend, so that it would be 3 seasonal, not just for winter. Plus I get really hot in wool sweaters, hence the reason I don’t knit them.
There are also 10 million other things I would like to do eventually, like maybe knit up an arsenal of unisex baby clothes (I like all that are in the first 2 Stich N Bitch books) so that when my friends start having kids (so many of them already are) and when I do myself, I’ll be able to immediately produce an adorable, knitted baby thing on the spot.

Is my favortie time of year… I love the idea that summer is coming and that there are flowers and new baby animals and new life all about. Today is actually very beautiful and I can’t wait to go out and take photos of all the flowers here on campus. They’re everywhere, and I am absolutely in love with the cherry blossom trees. Gorgeous. I am planning to snap a few images on the way to French Lit. Which reminds me, I love Moliere.
