Well enough, as the French say. Was my afternoon, that is. I’m exaughsted by the way. Art History was a breeze, my studying with flash cards worked like a charm, and we’ve finally entered the realm of old kingdoms in Ancient Egypt. Laundry was splendid, I love clean sheets. Knitting for Devin progressed, and the reading did as well. Surprisingly, I didn’t watch TV, only a bit while I ate dinner. A farily good day overall.
Am reallly excited about the trip to Portland with mom, brother and Belgian foreign exchange student planned for June, I just need to find a LYS to visit….
I think that this blogging thing is both a blessing and a curse; it forces me to type correctly, ie punctuation and spelling, but it also increases my desire for new and exciting knitting projects which can be dangerous to a college student’s bank account.
night.

Today is a day meant for relaxing and brushing up on my overdue French Lit reading. I don’t have my seminar class this afternoon, so I’m going to take the time to do laundry, read W ou le souvenir d’enfance, knit a scarf for my Parisian buddy Devin, study for my Art History quiz, and relax. Tonight there will be reading of Moliere, specifically Le Tartuffe, a comedy, and much much more knitting.
Good news though, for some reason I was able to purchase the yarn today, just not yesterday. I’ll have to eat my cupboards bare to make up for the purchase. But it’s ok. I just went to Trader Joe’s last weekend, so I’m all stocked up…
There is, however a slight change in the plans; I am too scared to knit with my #2 DPNs, as they are thin and long and bendy after the booties. I’m fearful that 2 socks might just bring them to their end. Instead of Monkey socks, I’m going to try Branching out.
Off to the laundry facilities….

Because for some reason, the KnitPicks site wont let me log in to puchase yarn, it just keeps erasing my username and pass instead of going to a checkout window. Whatever. Maybe Ill just have to wait until Gramma’s next weekend and user her land line, because there’s no way I’m going to call them via cell phone and give them my cc# to place the order.
I was really excited too… I was going to make Mokney Socks in Dusk and this afghan (FYI its pdf) in Mulled Wine.
I guess this is a good thing because I shouldn’t really be spending any more money on stuff. But hopefully by the time I’m at Grammas, I’ll have gotten my tax refund, so I can justify the purchase.
toodles and happy knitting. I think I’ll start that scarf… I’m off to French Lit… yea for Corneille and Le Cid, next week, its Moliere and Le Tartuffe!

I am LOVEING this pattern. (Yes I know I spelled loving wrong, but it is only to accentuate the amount of love). These booties are so freaking adorable, and these 2 little girls are going to be so cute wearing them! oh my goodness.

So I found one. Its an afghan, but I only have about 1/2 of the needed yarn, so I think it’s going to be a lap afghan or maybe a baby blanket. I found the pattern here.
So far its taking a LONG TIME because its been so long since I knit something with more than 40 stitches.

The color is really pretty, a deep teal blue-green. Im using Cascade 220 worsted. It’s going to be awesome. I’m super excited.

Chris is coming tonight, hopefully. I don’t like being so far from him all the time. He’s been giving me a hard time about this blog thing but I know he means well. Personally, I don’t even know why I’m doing this. I feel so embarrassed when I tell people about it. I haven’t overcome the supreme nerdy-ness that I am allowing myself to partake in. But it’s just so much fun…

Come in different packages. I finished the booties last night and am now looking for a new project. I have this book, but I feel as though I have almost grown bored with the patters, or maybe just moved beyond them.

In looking for something new, I try and browse different sites. A few of my favorite are:
Knitty
Daily Knitter
Knitting Pattern Central
I am also very very intersested in this scarf:

The pattern can be found here. I just haven’t found the right yarn for the project. I have seen it done in a solid color and it looks just yummy!
Not sure what to make next.
While on the hunt for new and exciting patterns,

…for shows like LOST and Eli Stone, because thanks to them, instead of sitting in front of the TV for nothing, I now have 2 of the MOST ADORABLE booties known to man. Taylor Vaughn is going to be stylin’!

The flash almost detracts from the sparkles in the gold, but it helps to bring out the raspberry pink better than without.
See for yourself:

I haven’t gotten any buttons yet, but I’m almost debating on cocheting longer straps so that they can be balet slippers? I think buttons might be a better choice though.
